Roots

The Roots Collection is where we allow ourselves to make without compromise.

These are not product-line pieces, and they were never intended to be. Each begins with something we cannot ignore—a rare piece of material, an unusual form, a historic structure being given one final life, or simply an idea we feel compelled to build.

Some will exist only once. Others may be made in an extremely limited number, dictated not by demand, but by what the material allows. When the wood is gone, the piece is gone with it.

This is where we push our own boundaries as designers and makers. Scale can become more ambitious. Materials more unusual. Construction more complex. The story may begin with timber salvaged from a building that stood for generations, or with a single extraordinary board we know we may never see again.

There is no wholesale version of the Roots Collection. No production schedule designed around volume. No expectation that a piece must be repeated.

It is our most personal work—and, in many ways, our purest.

The Roots Collection represents Ross Alan without restraint: pieces created for those who are less interested in having what everyone else has and far more interested in owning something they may never encounter again.
